Why Choose Our Stainless Castings?

Built for the Harshest Environments.

When your equipment faces saltwater, harsh chemicals, or strict food-safety regulations, standard steel just won’t cut it. You need parts that offer absolute corrosion resistance.

At Kurt Foundry, we specialize in pouring custom stainless steel parts that last. Whether you need a 50 lb commercial pump housing or a massive 5,000 lb marine winch component, our advanced sand casting lines make it cost-effective to produce mid-to-large size parts without the massive tooling costs of other methods.

The best part? We don’t just pour the metal. We CNC machine the parts in-house, meaning they arrive at your facility ready to bolt onto your assembly line.

What You Get With Us

Solving Your Supply Chain Headaches

We know what purchasing managers and engineers care about. Here is how we make buying custom castings easy.

No Middleman Markup

You are dealing directly with the factory that melts the steel. We control the quality, the timeline, and the cost.

Fully Machined & Ready

Stop managing multiple vendors. We cast the part, heat treat it, and use 5-axis CNC machines to finish it to your exact blueprint.

Certified Material Quality

Will it pass inspection? Yes. We provide full Material Test Reports (MTRs) proving the chemical makeup of your stainless steel.

Hassle-Free Shipping

Don’t want to deal with customs? We offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping, delivering the pallets directly to your US or Canadian dock.

Finding the Right Alloy

Common Stainless Steel Grades

Not sure which grade you need? We can help you choose the right balance of rust-resistance, strength, and cost for your specific application.

Common Name Casting Grade What It’s Best For
316 Stainless Steel ASTM A351 CF8M Maximum Corrosion Resistance. Contains Molybdenum. Ideal for marine environments, saltwater, and harsh chemical handling.
304 Stainless Steel ASTM A351 CF8 The Industry Standard. Excellent rust resistance. The go-to choice for food processing, breweries, and general water treatment.
410 Stainless Steel ASTM A743 CA15 High Strength & Wear. Less resistant to rust than 304/316, but much harder. Great for heavy-duty industrial wear parts and impellers.
317 Stainless Steel ASTM A351 CG8M Severe Chemical Use. An upgrade over 316. Used in highly acidic environments like pollution control and chemical plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your minimum and maximum size for stainless steel? +

We specialize in medium to large heavy-duty castings. Our sweet spot is parts weighing between 50 lbs and 5,000 lbs. If you have tiny, 1 lb intricate parts, you might need an investment casting foundry. For larger structural parts, our sand casting process is significantly more cost-effective.

Do you offer CNC machining, or just raw castings? +

We highly recommend letting us machine your parts! Stainless steel is tough to machine. We have dedicated 5-axis CNC centers right next to the foundry floor. We deliver finished parts that are ready to assemble, saving you the hassle of finding a local machine shop.

How do you ensure the metal is actually 304 or 316? +

We use strict in-house spectrometry before every single pour. We analyze the molten metal to ensure the exact percentages of Chromium, Nickel, and Carbon meet ASTM standards. We will provide you with a certified Material Test Report (MTR) with your shipment.

I don’t know how to import from China. Can you handle shipping? +

Absolutely. Over 90% of our clients are in North America. We can offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) pricing. This means we handle the ocean freight, customs clearance, and trucking right to your facility’s loading dock. You just place the order and receive the parts.

What format do you need my drawings in? +

We prefer 3D CAD models (STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks files) along with a 2D PDF drawing that calls out your specific tolerances, machining requirements, and the material grade.
