The ten sand casting factories below — Dawang Metals, Dandong Foundry, Shandong Useen, Ninghai Jinma, Taiyuan SIMIS, Haian Aoyu, Cangzhou Yongxing, Qingdao Rinborn, ZHY Casting, and our own plant, Kurt Foundry — are the ferrous shops a North American OEM is most likely to shortlist for a sand cast housing, body, flange or counterweight. The order is not a ranking. Every fact in each entry comes from that factory’s own published pages; read the tonnages and certifications as what each company claims about itself, not as audited fact.
Dawang Metals
Dawang Metals is a steel-first foundry based in Dandong that pours stainless, carbon, manganese and alloy steel as well as gray and ductile iron, with resin sand, shell and investment casting under one roof. The registered entity is Dawang Metals Pte Ltd; the manufacturing base is Dandong Dawang Steel Castings Co., Ltd., founded in 1998. The stainless grades it names — 17-4 PH, 201, 2205, 304, 316, 410, CF8 and CF8M — make it one of the few on this list to name pump-and-valve stainless grades outright.
Its sand casting page gives two size figures without saying which line each belongs to: 1000 × 1000 mm at no more than 100 kg, and a largest sand casting of 3 tons. The first reads as the automatic molding line’s limit; the page does not say what produces the 3-ton figure, so confirm which applies before you send a heavy body for quotation. Certifications are also listed differently on two of its pages — ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and PED are the three that appear on both.
Dandong Foundry / Liaoning Borui Machinery
Dandong Foundry — legal name Liaoning Borui Machinery Co., Ltd. — is a gray and ductile iron shop in Donggang, Dandong, Liaoning, that also pours cast steel and cast aluminum as secondary lines. Its site claims over 50 years of history but gives no founding year and names no certification in its text, so ask for the certificate rather than assume ISO 9001.
It runs an automatic static-pressure molding line, hot shell (pre-coated resin sand) molding and coring, furan resin sand, and manual green sand — a complete enough set that a part can go from a green sand prototype to a production line without changing supplier. The stated size limit is a 1000 × 800 mm flask, which the company translates as any iron casting under one meter long; no weight limit is given. Actual output is about 8,000 tons a year against a stated capacity of 30,000, so there is room on the lines.
Rough machining and most finish machining are done in-house.
Shandong Useen Casting Co., Ltd.
Shandong Useen Casting is an iron-only foundry in Qingzhou, Weifang, Shandong, established in 2014 and organised as six divisions — three molding lines, machining, tooling, and pig iron smelting on two blast furnaces of its own. Gray, ductile and vermicular iron are the only materials named on any of its product pages, with no carbon, alloy or stainless steel anywhere, so a steel casting goes elsewhere however well the weight fits.
Each molding line states its own weight band: resin sand from 500 kg to 150 tons for steel ingot moulds, slag pots and machine tool bodies; the vacuum (V-process) line from 100 kg to 20 tons for counterweights and rear frames; and a clay sand automatic line for ductile iron parts of 2 kg to 200 kg.
Machining is in-house, with over 50 machines, of which 30 are production and processing equipment such as CNC gantry five-face centers. Inspection is thinner: a hardness tester and a tensile tester are the only instruments named on any page — no spectrometer, no CMM and no NDT — and no page gives an ASTM, EN or GB grade designation.
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949 appear on its product pages but not on its about page, and no certificate number is shown.
Ninghai Jinma Casting / Yide Casting
Ninghai Jinma Casting is a ductile and gray iron foundry casting since 1993, and Zhejiang Yide Machinery Co., Ltd. is the company spun out of it to handle international orders — so an inquiry to Yide reaches Jinma, and the entity on your PO will be the trading arm, not the plant.
Jinma pours ductile iron, gray iron, cast steel, brass and bronze by sand casting, shell (precoated sand) casting and lost-wax investment casting. It states over 20,000 tons of capacity and lists a spectrometer, CMM, metallographic analyzer and tensile tester for inspection. No casting weight range and no ISO or IATF certification appear on the page, so both go on your question list.
Taiyuan SIMIS Investment Casting Co., Ltd.
Taiyuan SIMIS Investment Casting Co., Ltd. is an investment casting company in Taiyuan, Shanxi, that also runs sand casting, die casting and machining — and the one company on this list with two websites that disagree with each other. simiscasting.com says established 2003, six affiliated casting factories and two CNC machining workshops, around 50,000 tons; simis-casting.com says established 2014 with one precision casting plant, one sand casting plant, one die casting plant and two machining plants. Same company name on both; ask which entity you would be contracting with.
Both sites agree on the ferrous range — carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless, gray and ductile iron — with water glass and silica sol lost-wax lines for small precise parts and sand casting for the large ones. Only simiscasting.com gives sand casting weights, 0.5 kg to 40 tons; simis-casting.com instead gives sand capacity as about 10,000 tons of iron and 10,000 tons of steel a year and lists ISO 9001, TS 16949 and TUV.
Haian Aoyu Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Haian Aoyu is an iron-only furan resin sand foundry in Nanmo Town, Hai’an, Nantong, Jiangsu, with a maximum single-casting weight of 15 tons on 20,000 tons a year of capacity. It pours gray iron HT250 to HT300 and ductile iron QT400 to QT700 — Chinese GB designations, so you will cross-reference to ASTM A48 and A536 yourself. It does not offer steel.
Casting process design, tooling, casting, heat treatment, coating and machining are all in-house, with dimensional, mechanical-property and material testing. Certifications appear on its site only as images with no names in the text, so request the documents. The homepage says since 2007.
Cangzhou Yongxing Foundry Co., Ltd.
Cangzhou Yongxing is an iron-only resin sand foundry in the Botou Industrial and Development Zone, Hebei, and the one to call when the iron itself is the hard part: alongside pressure-resistant ductile and gray iron it lists alloy cast iron, high-silicon low-molybdenum heat-resistant iron and vermicular (CGI) iron. It was established in 1985 as Botou Yongxing Foundry. Annual output is stated at 10,000 tons; no maximum casting weight is given, so ask.
It runs resin sand molding lines with medium-frequency furnaces and uses casting simulation software before pouring. The machine shop is large for a foundry — 9 machining centers, 20 CNC machine tools and over 20 conventional machines — and inspection covers spectrometers, CMMs and a universal tensile tester.
Certifications are listed as ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO/TS 16949, all superseded editions, so ask for the current certificates.
Qingdao Rinborn Machinery / RMC Foundry
Qingdao Rinborn Machinery Co., Ltd., trading as RMC Casting Foundry, is a Huangdao, Qingdao company founded in 1999 with its foundry and machining workshop in Shandong. It runs a long process list — sand, lost-wax investment, shell mold, lost foam, vacuum casting and precision forging — under a stated weight ceiling that keeps it in the small-to-medium range: steel castings up to 0.5 tons, iron castings up to 5 tons.
Alloys cover gray and ductile iron, carbon, alloy and stainless steel, and wear- and heat-resistant steel, plus aluminum, brass and zinc. It is ISO 9001 certified, runs a materials lab with spectrometers, hardness and tensile testers, and does magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing in-house — but names no UT or RT, so a steel casting that needs volumetric inspection would go out for it. CNC machining, heat treatment and surface treatment are in-house.
ZHY Casting Co., Ltd.
ZHY Casting is a Luoyang, Henan foundry with a head office in Beijing, founded in 2004, that sand casts gray iron, ductile iron, carbon steel and alloy steel on static-pressure molding lines and also runs investment, lost-foam, V-method, gravity and semi-continuous casting. It states 150,000 MT of annual capacity and no maximum casting weight anywhere on its pages, which for a heavy steel body is the first question to ask.
ZHY lists DIN, EN, ISO, JIS, GOST, ASTM and ASME as standards it produces to, with ISO 9001:2008 (a superseded edition) as its stated certification. Its NDT list is the fullest here — RT, MT, PT, UT and VT to ASNT/EN/ISO — with a metallurgical lab, CNC machining and heat treatment in-house. Its contact and process pages say “40+ years” while the homepage says founded 2004; take 2004.
Kurt Foundry
Kurt Foundry is our own plant in Weifang, Shandong, established in 2013: a furan resin sand foundry pouring carbon steel to ASTM A27 / WCB, stainless CF8, CF8M and CF3M, ductile iron to ASTM A536 grades 60-40-18, 65-45-12 and 80-55-06, and gray iron to ASTM A48 classes 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40, in the 50 to 5,000 lb range.
Gating and risering are run through Magmasoft solidification simulation before the pattern is cut, patterns and core boxes are CNC-machined in-house, and each heat is spectrometer-checked before pouring, with the MTR issued against it. As-cast tolerances are CT10 to CT12 per ISO 8062 and as-cast surface is Ra 12.5 to 25 µm, which is what sets the machining stock we leave.
Downstream we run 5-axis milling and turning, annealing, normalizing, quench and temper, shot blasting, UT, MPI and X-ray, and CMM layout. Shipments go DDP, so the landed cost is on the quote rather than discovered at the port.
Which Factories Should You Contact First
Contact first the two or three factories whose own pages already cover your alloy and your casting weight, and leave the rest for later — a foundry that has to stretch to reach your part will subcontract it or struggle with it, and either way you will not hear about it until the first castings arrive. The table matches the common cases to the entries above.

Before Choosing a Chinese Sand Casting Supplier
Before you choose, get four things in writing from each shortlisted foundry. A website is a sales page; the documents below are what a purchasing file can stand on.
- The plant, not the seller: get the legal name and address of the foundry that pours your metal, and whether that is the entity you would contract with. On this list alone, Yide is the trading arm of Jinma, and Dawang’s registered entity and its Dandong manufacturing base carry two different company names.
- The certificate, not the logo: ask for the certificate itself, with number, scope and expiry, and check the edition. Several entries above still show ISO 9001:2008 or ISO/TS 16949, both superseded; a company may have recertified and not updated the page, or it may not have.
- Your grade and your weight in their words: a capability statement naming your ASTM grade and your casting weight, not “steel” and not “up to X tons”.
- A sample MTR and inspection report from a similar part: heat number, spectrometer chemistry, mechanical properties, and the NDT method with its acceptance criteria. If the foundry cannot produce one from a past job, the traceability you will be asked for on your own parts does not exist yet.
Conclusion
The list above goes as far as a web page can: ten factories, each described in its own stated terms, with the gaps and contradictions left visible rather than smoothed over. Match your alloy and weight to the table first, then put the four documents to the two or three that fit, and the list narrows itself. If the part is a ferrous casting between 50 and 5,000 lb, send us the drawing along with the others — we answer the same four questions.
